**NOTE** These instructions pertain to the MICRO Time Machine, and are not relevant for the older, Raspberry Pi-based Time Machines (sold prior to 2024).

In late March, 2024, archive.org changed their servers to only work with encrypted (https) connections. The Micro Time Machines that were in the field at that time were not capable of handling https connections, and will skip many tracks.

The code and the micropython firmware have been updated, and you can update your machine to pick up the fixes.

You can update the code and the firmware in any order. Usually, you will only need to update the software, but in this case, updating the firmware is encouraged.

To update the code:

​

1. Press and hold the POWER button for 3 seconds.

2. Select "Update Code" from the configuration menu

3. After about a minute, you will be prompted to "Press Select Button". Press select button.

To update the firmware:

​

1. Press and hold the POWER button for 3 seconds.

2. Select "Update Firmware" from the configuration menu

When you are up to date, you should see (as of April 22, 2024) software version 2.1.3 and firmware version 1.23.0 20240408
